Postabortion Family Planning (PAFP) Policy Sindh

The current Health and Population policies do not provide clear policy directions on postabortion family planning (PAFP) and the role of both departments is not explicitly narrated. Even in the provincial post-pregnancy family planning policy, directions on postabortion family planning are not explained. This warranted the development of a comprehensive provincial postabortion family planning policy to define the role of stakeholders in PAFP and, in turn, to provide policy guidance to develop the PAFP strategy and plans.
The postabortion family planning policy for Sindh has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Health and Population Welfare, Sindh, and key reproductive health stakeholders from both private and public sectors, health care professional bodies, and NGOs with the technical assistance of Ipas.
